Common questions

Can I plan subway journeys? Yes. NYC Subway trip planning uses bundled MTA schedules and supports line changes at connected stations. The subway Live tab also shows MTA real-time arrivals at Times Square, Grand Central, Herald Square, Union Square, Atlantic–Barclays, and Fulton Street. Planner times remain schedule-based; live arrivals require internet access. Confirm service changes and critical trips with the MTA.

A train time looks wrong. Check the label under it: "Scheduled" means the printed timetable (no live data for that trip yet); "Live" means a real-time estimate. Schedules can change on the agency side between our monthly data updates — when in doubt, confirm with the agency's official app.

Why is a track number sometimes missing? Track assignments appear when the agency's live feed supplies one. They may not be announced yet, can change, and are not available at every station. Always confirm the boarding track on the station's official displays. Bundled rail and subway schedules remain available offline; live information requires a network connection.

Why don't I see any alerts? You likely have "My transit" filtering on. Alerts from systems you've turned off sit under "Other systems" on the Issues tab, and you can change your systems in Settings → My transit.

Does the app sell tickets? No. The Tickets tab links you to each agency's official app (NJ Transit Mobile, OMNY, MTA TrainTime, RidePATH).

How current is the schedule data? Timetables are bundled with each app update from the agencies' public GTFS feeds. We refresh them at least monthly and around major schedule changes.
