MetroConnect Cloud — live NJ Transit for everyone, zero setup

  • Live NJ Transit out of the box. Real-time delays, train positions, and station-board track numbers at NY Penn and Newark Penn now come from the MetroConnect cloud service — no accounts, no configuration, it just works.
  • NJ Transit Bus advisories. Detours and service notices for every NJT bus route, grouped per route in the alerts tree — sourced from NJ Transit's official advisories feed. (Bus schedules and trip planning: planned for a future update.)
  • NJ Transit Rail alerts with line scoping — pin your line and see only what affects your train.
  • Smarter polling: the app only fetches data for the transit systems you've enabled.

The DepartureVision update

  • Track numbers on departure boards — know your platform the moment NJ Transit posts it.
  • Second-precision delays per train, and delay-adjusted times at every stop on the trip timeline.
  • Live train position — see which station your train is approaching, right on the trip timeline.
  • Train numbers (like NEC #3706) shown on boards, trip results, and timelines.
  • Honest-data tuning: live/scheduled/signal-lost labels calibrated per agency's real GPS reporting cadence.

The foundation

  • Works underground: complete NJ Transit Rail, LIRR, and Metro-North timetables bundled in the app — full schedules with zero signal.
  • One-tap trip planner with direct and transfer routes, saved commutes, and a stop-by-stop trip timeline.
  • Live PATH arrivals at every PATH station, and live LIRR / Metro-North updates.
  • Alerts by line: a collapsible per-line tree for subway, rail, and bus alerts — pin the lines you ride.
  • "My transit" personalization: pick your systems; boards, alerts, and updates focus on just those.
  • Honest data labels everywhere: every time is marked live, scheduled, or signal-lost — the app never dresses up a guess as a fact.
  • Dark, commuter-first design · favorites & quick-pick chips · nearby stations · system status · official-app handoff for tickets.
